"Fabien,
You put me in a difficult situation. I understand that you are doing good work with riders and aren't making big profits but the work is copyrighted and what you have done is a violation of copyright law.
Just so you understand, it took hundreds of hours of preparation and writing and experimenting to make the film. It also cost me $500,000.00 which I had to borrow from other people. This money I have to pay back to them and one of the problems with electronic data is that it can be easily copied and distributed so we never see any return on our investment and I still have a huge debt.
But there can be a solution to this. If your translation is good why don't we make it available in France with French subtitles and you can sell it through the school to your students so they can take a copy home, you would make some money and I would make some also.
We would make an agreement and you could become the French distributor for the DVD.
Once the master video is created with the French subtitles it is very inexpensive to make the copies.
We only charge $20 about 16 Euros to buy the DVD here in the USA. We sell many of them through Amazon but our return is much smaller when we sell to big distributors like them.
I don't like to bring everything down to money but you must realize I still have $250,000 to pay back and I don't like to be in debt.
I also realize that this puts you in the position to start a different business than just training riders but it is the best solution I can think of.
What do you think?
Best,
Keith Code"
